Lawrence R. Goldfarb, JD
Founding Partner

Mr. Goldfarb has been in the investment and corporate finance and legal business for over 28 years. After graduating from Georgetown Law School cum laude and on the law journal, he began his career as an attorney with the law firms of Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy and thereafter with Skadden Arps Meagher & Flom. Subsequently, Mr. Goldfarb joined Credit Suisse First Boston Corporation as a Partner and Director of Mergers and Acquisitions. Following the sale of First Boston to Credit Suisse, Mr. Goldfarb left to form the investment and hedge fund ultimately called LRG Capital Group. In March of 2011, without admitting or denying guilt he entered into a consent order with the Securities & Exchange Commission (“SEC”) relating to the use of proceeds in one of the investments in one of the hedge funds. Pursuant to the agreement with the SEC, Mr. Goldfarb cannot actively participate in the securities industry for 5 years and therefore he retired in July 2011 from his active role in LRG Capital Group. He maintains various interests in LRG Capital Group and its subsidiaries, but all interests are passive and day to day management is handled by the LRG Capital team. Mr. Goldfarb continues his active positions as Vice Chairman of Session Ex, a tech company focused toward social workflow and as Chairman of the Board of Om Records, a San Francisco based lifestyle and record company. He also continues to write about investment and economic and fiscal policy and will continue to do so via his blog.

Mr. Goldfarb continues to be an active philanthropist in his community through his philanthropic foundation which is focused on Autism and other organizations supporting children. He continues to support and/or serve as a board member with numerous charities including Autism Speaks, The American Diabetes Association, The Mary & Dick Allen Diabetes Center at Hoag  Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, Easter Seals, Homeward Bound of Marin, The Harbor Point Charitable Foundation, The Scleroderma Research Foundation and Youth Tennis Advantage. In February of 2010, he was honored by the American Diabetes Association as Father of the Year.


Hodaka Kajita
Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Kajita brings 8 years of experience as the LRG Capital Group’s Chief Operating Officer. After joining LRG Capital in 2003, he developed his role as the direct liaison for all financial, legal, IT administration, sales, and internal affairs for over 10 related-entities, Mr. Kajita bridges the gap between customer and management for seamless information analysis and reporting by integrating back office functions with the executive team.  He facilitated the launch and integration of LRG Capital Real Estate, LRG Capital Commercial Ventures, LRG Capital Cascade and various other entities. Additionally, he has executed the transition and securitization of  IT infrastructure on a more efficient and cost effective platform. 

Day to day, Mr. Kajita is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and reporting of all compliance requirements, corporate policies, financial planning, tax preparation, risk analysis, as well as creating new business opportunities.  He compiles and consolidates accounts to insure an efficient flow of financial information to the appropriate departments.

At the University of San Francisco, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Writing, Japanese (language), and Asian American Studies.  Mr. Kajita also studied abroad at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. Outside of LRG, Mr. Kajita raced motorcycles in the American Federation of Motorcyclists in 2006-2008, winning Top Novice in Formula III at Infineon Raceway in May 2007.


David Ngo
Research Analyst

Mr. Ngo brings a diverse groundwork of experience in writing, client relations and marketing at LRG Capital Group where he interfaces through specialty technology platforms to correspond with broad audiences with precision. Mr. Ngo's intimacy with these platforms enables LRG Capital Group to effectively operate on large scale with efficiency.

In the past Mr. Ngo has assisted Markyr Media in public relations, and worked for the non-profit Davis Downtown Business Association in marketing. He also worked with musicians and producers at Fantasy Studios where he applied his knowledge of audio recording technology and production.

David Ngo received a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and a minor in English from the University of California, Davis.


Penni Webb
Office Manager, Executive Assistant

Ms. Webb brings over twelve years of office management and executive assistance to LRG Capital Group. Since 1999, she has her own business in the Bay Area as an Interior Designer, Organizer & Photographer for several entrepreneurs.

Prior to her business she was Account Executive, Marketing Manager & Photographer at Western Scenic Designs in Oakland as well as managed contemporary and antique galleries. She has handled many small and large scale projects. Part time, she is a professional photographer, specializing in interiors and portraits. She has traveled the world as a photo journalist, teaching underprivileged children computer and photography skills.

Ms. Webb received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art History and Painting, from the University of Arizona and a Master of Arts in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute.


David Gottesman, MBA
Entrepreneur In Residence

Mr. Gottesman joins LRG Capital Group’s advisory team with a wealth of knowledge in the technology sector and has extensive experience building technology companies.  He is a 16-year sales veteran of emerging technologies and a highly successful entrepreneur. He is skilled in rapid revenue growth and development of early-stage companies.

Mr. Gottesman specializes in advising technology companies that are either seeking capital growth, looking for acquisition candidates, in need of restructuring or other services. LRG Capital Group’s clients will greatly benefit from Mr. Gottesman’s hands-on experience and knowledge of the technology sector.

Previously, Mr. Gottesman was a top producing sales team leader at multiple technology companies including AVCOM, Cat Technology and Loudcloud. He went on to be the sole financier, founder and CEO of TDR Corporation, a technology integrator.  As founder and CEO, he successfully grew sales to $15 million in 4 years.  In 2006 he sold the company to FusionStorm, a national provider of technology solutions where he runs a $100 million revenue division. Other companies to his credit include SI-CAP Corporation sold to Acclaim Technology in mid-2006, and SessionEx, which is still active today.

Mr. Gottesman received his BSBA in 1988 and MBA from Xavier University in 1990.  


Noah Thorp
SessionEx Co-founder, CTO

Noah is a polyglot software developer and agile development leader with over a decade of professional experience. He has been highly successful in CTO consulting, agile coaching, systems analysis and ontology modeling; as well as programming financial industry, ecommerce, geo-location, social media, customer value analysis, content management, music composition, and video streaming software. Clients have included Avid/Digidesign, zozi, Fortune 500 and startups. He has led tech events at Stanford University, UC Berkeley, Digidesign, and Dolby. He has presented at RubyConf, Maker Faire, and TED. He received his BA from Hampshire College.


Cynthia Mason
Comptroller, SessionEx

Cynthia brings over 20+ years of business management experience from print, online, software and system integration ventures. For the last 8 years, Cynthia has her own consulting business and has contributed to projects for Triggit Inc, Wheelz, Farmsreach, L+U Architects, Women.com, AlternativeMedicine.com, Industry Standard, MacWorld, Technology Deployment Research Corp. and various other virtual and brick and mortar clients.

Services mainly provided are Controller/ Accounting and Business modeling and forecasts. Prior to that, Cynthia was a Group Business Manager for 8 years with Ziff Davis Publishing, a leading integrated media marketing company, Cynthia ensured compliance of good business practices, corporate policies and held P&L responsibility for revenues of $60M.

Responsibilities included: financial planning and analysis of new product and business development for print and online, general management for 4 national publications with upwards of 100 people, annual budget packages, five-year forecast and break-even models; quarterly financial statements and competitive cost and price analyses.

Prior to Ziff Davis, Cynthia spent 9 years as the Business Manager/COO for Logicon Ultrasystems, a high tech software development and systems integration company for government contract energy and space systems. Cynthia worked full time as an Operations Officer for Security Pacific National Bank as she earned her BS in Business from California State University, Long Beach. Cynthia also has a teaching credential in finance from University of California Los Angeles.


Lee Brockett, JD
Director, LRG Cascade LLC

Lee Brockett is a value investor that has been buying distressed debt for over seven years.  Mr. Brockett has originated, closed and the managed the liquidation of over $5b in assets during this time period.  Through his strong work ethic and disciplined investment acumen, Mr. Brockett has remained active and profitable throughout variations in the economy.

Mr. Brockett is the owner and Managing Director of Diligentsia Capital Group, LLC (“DCG”).  Based in Petaluma, CA, DCG purchases, sells and manages the liquidation of distressed debt while also providing niche consulting services to credit grantors.  Prior to DCG, Mr. Brockett owned and operated Glass Mountain Capital, LLC and its collections agency subsidiary, GMC Credit Services, before their sale in May of 2009.  Mr. Brockett’s first foray into the world of distressed debt began as Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of Applied Income Sciences, LLC, a receivables-focused hedge fund.

Mr. Brockett is an active market participant in the credit and collections industry.  Mr. Brockett is currently serving his second consecutive term as a Committee Member of the Asset Buyer Division (“ABD”) of the American Collectors Association (“ACA”) and is also on the Research and Development Committee of the ACA.
 
Mr. Brockett has a B.A. in Political Science and a Minor in Business Administration from the University of Oregon and a J.D. from the University Of San Francisco School Of Law.
 


Nicolas Curry
Senior Analyst, LRG Cascade LLC

Nicolas Curry is the Senior Analyst for LRG Cascade, LLC. Mr. Curry brings 6 years of investment management and analysis experience. In the past he has been a Board of Directors at Sonoma State University Academic Foundation, Vice President of Finance, and Chief Financial Officer at Associated Students Inc.

His tasks with LRG Cascade have included conducting analysis, investment projections, and performance reporting for over $1 billion of distressed consumer assets.

Mr. Curry received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from California State University, Sonoma.


Rekha Angepat
Senior Analyst, LRG Cascade LLC

Rehka brings 20 years of investment mathematics and analysis experience to the Cascade team. Prior to being with LRG Cascade, Rehka was an analyst at Microsoft, Union Bank and Cisco Systems; Investment. As an associate at LRG Capital, Rehka carries a B.S. and PHD in Mathematics from University of Calicut, India, and a MFE from University of California, Berkeley.
