Lawrence Goldfarb Contributes Chapter to New Bloomberg Press PIPEs Book
San Francisco-- A new Bloomberg Press book entitled PIPEs – A Guide to Private Investments in Public Equity is scheduled for release on October 22, 2003. Edited by Steven Dresner (Publisher of The PIPEs Report) with E. Kurt Kim (Founder and CEO of PrivateRaise, LLC), the book is written for institutional investors, investment bankers, financial analysts, corporate attorneys and, especially, executives of public companies looking to increase their understanding of an increasingly important area of the equity and equity-linked capital markets. Once a little-understood strategy used by relatively few companies and investors, today PIPEs offer a practical - and often preferred - financing alternative for companies, regardless of size or sector. This book is a definitive guide to PIPEs, providing a 360-degree view of PIPE transactions for the entire audience of participants in these deals, and presents the views, voices, and invaluable expertise of leading practitioners from all specialties involved in these transactions.
BayStar’s Managing General Partner, Lawrence R. Goldfarb, was a major contributor to this book. Mr. Goldfarb authored Chapter 8 entitled “Investing in PIPEs: Finding Opportunity and Evaluating the Deal,” the first chapter of the Deal Flow section of the book. This chapter addresses all aspects of PIPE transactions, including investment opportunities, due diligence, deal structures, merits of the deal, direct and indirect cost structures, and advantages to investors and issuers.
PIPEs – A Guide to Private Investments in Public Equity (Bloomberg Press) is available at www.bloomberg.com/books and online retailers, including Amazon, Borders, and Barnes & Noble. Hardcover; Pages: 368; ISBN: 1-57660-140-4; October 2003.
