Biographies Lawrence Goldfarb | lgoldfarb@lrgcap.com | 415.834.4611 Mr. Goldfarb brings his expertise of over twenty years of investment banking, trading and legal experience to LRG Capital Group. Recognized as one of the leading experts on making direct investments in both private and public companies, Mr. Goldfarb specializes in bridging the financial needs of growth companies by making direct investments and structuring transactions that enable them to grow and provide investor returns. Mr. Goldfarb began his career as a tax attorney with the law firms of Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy and thereafter with Skadden Arps Meagher & Flom, where he provided tax analysis in connection with a wide variety of complex transactions, including financings, mergers and recapitalizations. Subsequently, Mr. Goldfarb joined Credit Suisse First Boston Corporation as a Partner and Director of Mergers and Acquisitions. In 1998 he formed BayStar Capital Management, LLC, a vehicle in which he could fund growth oriented, small capitalization, and publicly traded companies. Mr. Goldfarb regularly speaks at both national and international private equity and hedge fund conferences and events, has written numerous books and articles on various investment strategies, and is a guest lecturer at business schools, including Columbia and Berkeley. Mr. Goldfarb serves as a Board Member in several charitable and non-profit foundations such as Ambassadors of Hope and Opportunity , Blue Bear School of American Music and the Joe Toucan Diabetes Project. Mr. Goldfarb's experience as the father of an autistic child has lead him to support many organizations focused on autism research and treatment including Autism Speaks, The Oak Hill School and The Ryder Foundation. He is a major contributor and sponsor to Homeward Bound of Marin, the Scleroderma Research Foundation, The Mill Valley Film Festival, and the Drug Policy Alliance. Stemming from his love of aiding underprivileged youth, the arts, and technology, Mr. Goldfarb continues to be a major contributor to Room to Read, The Lower Eastside Girls Club, and FIRST - For Inspiration & Recognition of Science & Technology. Mr. Goldfarb also owns and sponsors the LRG Racing team which competes in the American Federation of Motorcyclists and other racing clubs. Mr. Goldfarb received his J.D. Cum Laude from Georgetown Law School in 1984 where he was on the Law Journal and published numerous articles, and his B.A. in International Economics from George Washington University in 1981. Shah Bahreyni, MBA | shah@lrgcap.com Mr. Bahreyni brings more than 20 years of senior management expertise in the hospitality industry to LRG Capital Group. He is recognized as a trend and concept leader through his ability to comprehensively analyze restaurant concepts, scalability and financial standings. Currently General Partner of Boca Steak & Seafood, with two-time, four star chef George Morrone, Mr. Bahreyni is known for assembling dynamic management teams and attracting some of the most talented chefs in the country. He has launched successful restaurants (Boca Steak & Seafood, Sabella's Italiana Market, Ondine Private Events & Restaurant, Faz Bistro, Toast) and turned others around (Horizon, Tutto Mare, A. Sabella's), in his role as General Manager, Director of Operations and/or Proprietor. Mr. Bahreyni has worked for highly recognized restaurant organizations such as the American Restaurant Group/Spectrum Foods division, Faz Restaurant Group and A. Sabella's Restaurants. As Director of Operations of Constellation Concepts (California Café Group) from 2001-2004, Mr. Bahreyni restructured the Horizons and Ondine restaurants, taking them to number one and two, respectively, in sales and profits out of 21 restaurants in18 months. Mr. Bahreyni holds a BA in Marketing from American International College (1984) and received his MBA in Finance from the University of San Francisco in 2000.
Eric J. Bentley, MBA & CPA | ebentley@lrgcap.com | 415.834.4640 Mr. Bentley brings over 15 years of investment banking and management consulting experience to LRG Capital Group. Over the last decade, Mr. Bentley has provided financial advisory services for various technology companies in transactions that aggregate to over $60 billion in value and roles that range from buy and sell side M&A advisory to capital placement agency for technology companies. From 2004 to 2007, Mr. Bentley was a Director in the Technology, Media and Telecom group for Cowen and Company, LLC leading the mergers and acquisitions advisory effort for growth oriented, small capitalization, and publicly traded technology companies. Prior to joining Cowen, Mr. Bentley was a Principal in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Thomas Weisel Partners from 2000 to 2004 where he specialized in advising companies in the communications sector. Prior to that role, Mr. Bentley was a founding member of Merrill Lynch's Technology Mergers and Acquisitions practice based in San Francisco. Mr. Bentley also has worked at BT Securities. Prior to his investment banking career, Mr. Bentley provided management consulting services while being employed by Arthur Andersen where he also earned his C.P.A. certification. Mr. Bentley received an M.B.A. with Distinction from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1997 and a B.A. cum laude from Harvard University in 1990.
Hodaka Kajita | hkajita@lrgcap.com | 415.834.4619 Mr. Kajita brings several years of experience in office, financial, and IT administration to LRG Capital Group. He is primarily responsible for the day-to-day business operations and overall management of the LLC. At the University of San Francisco, Mr. Kajita earned his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature/Writing, Japanese (language), and Asian American Studies.
Evan A. Kraus, JD | ekraus@lrgcap.com | 415.834.4650 Mr. Kraus brings years of legal, investment and banking experience to LRG Capital Group. He served as an officer of Tamalpais Bank, a subsidiary of the publicly-traded Epic Bancorp, from 2004 to 2006. Mr. Kraus served as Vice President-National Accounts for American Century Services Corporation beginning in 2001 and as Vice President-Mutual Fund Alliances for Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. from 1998 until 2001. Mr. Kraus has advised and served as legal counsel to California corporations over a period of ten years. Mr. Kraus was Executive Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel of NetSource Communications, Inc., an international communications and internet services company from 1996 to 1997. He was Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel to IASCO, a diversified international aviation services company, from 1992 to 1996, and from 1990 to 1992, he served as corporate counsel to that company. Mr. Kraus also served as corporate counsel to CIS Corporation, a lease syndication company, from 1986 until 1989 and as an associate attorney with the law firm of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman from 1984 to 1986. Mr. Kraus received his J.D. law degree from Emory University School of Law in 1983 and his B.A. from Brandeis University in 1980.
Kimberly Lynch, MBA | klynch@lrgcap.com | 415.834.4630 Ms. Lynch joins LRG Capital Group with more than 15 years of investment banking experience which includes her extensive background in capital markets, mergers and acquisitions and key strategic partnership transactions. Most recently as president and founder of KTL Consulting, Ms. Lynch advised several companies on buy-side acquisitions, financial due diligence, valuation analysis, offer negotiations, and financial structuring. Previously, as a Vice President of Merriman Curhan Ford & Co.'s investment banking group, she was responsible for securing and executing equity and debt financings as well as merger and acquisition transactions. As Director of Business and Corporate Development for Yahoo!, Inc., Ms. Lynch built key strategic relationships for Yahoo!'s Latin American division. She has experience in debt capital markets at Lehman Brothers, Inc. and equities at Morgan Stanley. Ms. Lynch received her M.B.A from Dartmouth College in 1995 and a B.A. from Colby College in 1988.
Nathan W. Randel, CFA | nrandel@lrgcap.com | 415.834.4624 Mr. Randel brings 11 years of investment and banking experience to LRG Capital Group. Prior to joining LRG Capital, he served as Assistant Portfolio Manager for GM Capital Group, investment manager for the Pure Alpha Relative Value Fund, where he researched and modeled arbitrage trading strategies and managed the fund's risk, capital allocations and operational infrastructure. Mr. Randel previously served on the dealer desk at Banc of America Securities as a Money Market Trader assisting Fortune 500 companies obtain funding through $30 billion in primary market debt programs, while trading a secondary market portfolio of up to $300 million in money market securities. He also managed front office staff and systems for the trading desk of this Bank of America business group. Mr. Randel has also held financial services positions in institutional fixed income sales with Seattle-Northwest Securities and corporate credit analysis with First Union Bank. Prior to his financial services career, he served as a Staff Accountant with U.S. News and World Report, where he performed various Treasury duties including cash management investing. Mr. Randel is a CFA Charter holder and is an active member of The CFA Institute and The CFA Society of San Francisco. He received his Bachelor of Arts in business management from Lynchburg College in 1989.
Yaron Shamash | yshamash@lrgcap.com | 415.834.4635 Mr. Shamash brings more than 5 years Trading Desk and Operations experience to LRG Capital Group. Most recently he worked in the Operations Department at Presidio Financial Partners where he assisted in supporting a team of advisors that managed accounts for high net worth individuals. Prior to that, Mr. Shamash worked on the Mortgage Back Securities trading desk at Compass Analytics, LLC. Mr. Shamash received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles. He currently holds the Series 62 and 63 licenses. |
